WAVERLEY AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY

As many will know the club is celebrating its 90th anniversary this
year, but even though activation of the special callsign is complete,
other activities are ongoing. In the near future QSL cards are expected
to be sent to all stations who worked VI2BV90 during its operation.

Waverley's recently introduced weekly HF SSB net, known as the 90NET,
will now move to Sunday mornings starting at 7:30am and the club station
will aim to work portable. It will operate around 7.090MHz. This net is
in addition to the current weekly net every Monday at 8pm local time on
the Paddington 2 metre repeater.

There is the 90th anniversary award for contacting the club station and
members, which will continue throughout the year. The two club nets
offer good opportunities to work award stations on VHF and HF. Full
details of the award are on the club website.

Another event planned is a dinner to be held later in the year and the
club would like to contact as many previous members as possible. Would
anyone who has been a member of the club in the past please contact Eric
with details either by email to dinner at e-v-electronics.com or by phone
on 02 9337 2909 as soon as possible. Please leave a message with your
details if a human does not answer. Whether you are intending to come
along to the dinner or not, the club would like to hear from you.

More detail on all these activities, will be found on the special page
on the club's website vk2bv.org devoted to the 90th anniversary.

The clubhouse is always open on the first Saturday afternoon of each
month for a variety of activities or just a ragchew and all are welcome
to drop in.

Every month an evening meeting is held on the third Wednesday at 7:30pm.
On April 15th the main topic will be "Practical instruction on soldering
techniques" and, although mainly aimed at those recently licensed, most
hams will probably learn something.

Visitors are welcome at all club functions and much information,
including details of the club's location and a calendar of events, can
be found on its regularly updated website at vk2bv.org or call Simon,
VK2UA, on 02 9328 7141.
