Let me try that again
For those who do not read http://slashdot.org, here is one from the
"Yes, but does it emit radio waves?" department: Amateur fusion
reactor enthusiasts! According to a front-page article in the Wall
Street Journal this week, there are about 100 "fusors" world-wide, of
whom at last count 42 had built their own functional fusion reactors.
Their gear does run 10kV ion containment systems, and can and well
might emit potentially dangerous levels of X-rays and neutrons!
Yippee!!!! That does sound like "things Amateur Radio folk might do"
with klystrons, a Jacob's Ladder, and the like.

Of course, for the moment, the reactors fuse hydrogen, but do not
produce an excess of energy; they consume it.

See what they are on about by visiting http://www.fusor.net

Best wishes,
Peter Ellis
