Guys,
I just bought a generic speaker/mic from ebay, which does quite work
with my VX-5. The rubber gasket on the socket prevents proper contact,
unless it is held against the socket.

Does anyone need one? According to the blurb, it will suit FT-10R,
FT-40R, FT-50R, FT-60R,
         VX-10, VX-110, VX-130, VX-131, VX-132, VX-150,
         VX-160, VX-180, VX-210, VX-210A, VX-300, VX-400,
         VX-410, VX-420, VXF-1, VXF-10, VXF-20, VX-1R,
VX-2R and VX-5R (obviously there is an issue with the VX-5!)

See ebay item #320180151835 for a picture

Apart from the problem with the VX-5, it is an otherwise excellent,
robust speaker mic. I have the same make for my Motorola.

Price is $20 including express post to your QTH.
