Hello Eric,

This morning we spoke about Isotron Antennas at Centennial Park. You
mentioned some sort of inefficiency of this type of antenna. Could you
please explain that a bit further? Carl, an OM in Florida (WA2STL),
recommended this antenna to me. Here is the URL he gave me:
http://www.isotronantennas.com/

On these Internet pages you will find an article on "How Do The Isotrons
Work So Well?" here:
http://www.isotronantennas.com/isohow.htm

And here is some feedback from isotron antenna users:
http://www.isotronantennas.com/isospk.htm

One of the reasons why this antenna is not used more often by OMs in
Australia, could be the delivery restrictions. Bilal Company only ships
to U.S., Canada, Puerto Rico, APO and FPO (see also here:
http://www.isotronantennas.com/ordrpag2.htm ). Amateur Electronic Supply
- on the other hand - ships overseas. But "due to current European Union
(EU) regulations, AES CANNOT export most products to EU member countries
and members of the European Economic Area (EEA)." (see also here:
http://www.aesham.com/policy.shtml &
http://www.aesham.com/faq.shtml#topic4 ).

Thanks for some explanations in advance on why you would avoid isotron
antenna, Eric.

Salut,
  Mathias
