Guys, two things

the latest version of Ham Radio Deluxe was released last week. 

The latest version now does SSTV!!  For those of us running the old 
grand dame of SSTV software, MMSSTV, the HRD's Digimaster version is 
very much the same. whoohoo!

A question about USB CAT connections.  I find that my serial CAT cable 
is relatively quiet, but the USB connection spews out RFI like a OTH 
radar (both made in China I suppose....).  This is the same regardless 
of whether I use a 10 year old laptop or my 2 year old all singing all 
dancing laptop.

Why is that so?  Is it
1. a dodgy USB CAT cable or
2. USB CAT connections are inherently noisy with RFI and serial CAT 
connections are inherently quiet?

I would be bothered but unfortunately, I don't think any PC gear has 
been made with serial ports for quite some time now.....
