Hi
Below is the text for our club in this week's ARNSW Sunday broadcast,
giving details of Wednesday's meeting.
Don't forget that every Tuesday the clubhouse at Rose Bay is open from 9
to 4 to chat and work on club or personal projects. Most attending are
retired but all are welcome to lend a hand or just drop in.
Cycling in Centennial Park is also another regular event from 8 to 9 on
Sunday mornings where some members go to socialise and get a bit of
exercise. Meeting area is on Parkes Drive at the kiosk where the four
ponds meet. You can contact them bicycle mobile on the 2m repeater
during this time.
There was a WARS committee meeting last Thursday evening and I will be
circulating notes on the matters discussed in the next day or so. Much
of interest is happening.
Hope to see many of you on Tuesday or at the meeting on Wednesday.

WAVERLEY AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY
Please note that the club's next evening meeting will take place on
January 16th. The main item will be a presentation by Edwin, VK2VEL,
covering the recent development of amateur radio in China and operating
as a visitor. He will also talk about the clandestine broadcasters of
the Chinese Cultural Revolution including their activity and historical
background.
The next Project Day is on the afternoon of Saturday, 2nd February,
commencing around 1:30pm. Note that Project Days occur on the first
Saturday of every month and evening meetings every third Wednesday.
The club holds Amateur Examinations & Foundation Licence courses
regularly with the next one occurring on the weekend of the 9 and 10th
of February. Anyone interested in attending, whether a club member or
not, should email the club at exams at vk2bv.org.
The club is holding a seminar on the Yaesu VX7R hand held transceiver
following requests for help with its complexity. This is to be held on
Saturday, February 23rd at the Rose Bay RSL club and is organised by
Allan, VK2FALN. Anyone interested in attending can email him at
vk2faln at vk2bv.org to reserve a place.
Waverley's clubhouse is located in the Scout Hall at Vickery Avenue,
Rose Bay, behind the RSL Club on New South Head Road. It is easy to find
and there is plenty of parking space in the grounds.
Detailed information about the club can be found on its frequently
updated web site at vk2bv.org or call Simon, VK2UA, on 02 9328 7141.
