The other news is of course that overseas amateurs will now be able to bring
 their hand-helds with them and use our repeaters without going through any
 licensing rigmarole...at least that's as I read it.

 I have enjoyed roaming up and down the ZL countryside chatting to local 
hams
 using the VK slash "Portable ZL" callsign.

 Be prepared for some strange accints on the air - I look forward to
 extending the courtesies that I have received as a visitor.

 It also appears that we will be able to operate in a number of other
 countries a lot easier, too.
