[Waverley ARS] Solar Eclipse Tomorrow

Hello list,

This one is a little off topic for radio, but I'm sure almost all of us 
would be interested in seeing the partial solar eclipse tomorrow.

At about 04:00 UTC (about 3pm Sydney time), if you look out the window, 
you might notice it is a tad darker than usual.

It's not safe to look at the sun unless you have special filters, and 
it's extremely dangerous to photograph. Fear not, here's a technique 
called the pinhole camera that you can use to observe and photograph the 
eclipse. Here's how:

Take a regular kitchen sieve (take one to work, everyone else will!), 
and let's it's shadow fall upon a piece of cardboard. Each hole in the 
sieve acts like a pinhole camera and projects it's own image of the Sun 
onto the ground. From here you can photograph (turn your flash off) or 
just video tape it.
