Here's a sidetone generator. The specification calls for a 12V/0.28mA
buzzer, bridge rectifier and 3 turn coil. This is pushed into the end of
the transmitter coil.

Just a random thought about Parasets from a bench warmer. :-)

I wonder if there's a side tone oscillator in the Paraset design?  If 
not, I wonder if any of the guys on the project have considered this 
problem? 

Perhaps a discrete plug in module or some such to achieve this?
