Hi Raffy,

that's a great bit of info. I might forward it on to Julian Sortland for
inclusion in the next WICEN newsletter

Subject: [Waverley ARS] Batteries: convert CCa to AmpHours

Dear members,

As Hawkesbury Canoe Classic approaches, the need to have portable power made
me look around and see what batteries I had available.

One of the batteries I have is a deep discharge lead/acid battery rated at
640 CCA.

My question was, what's that in amphours?

I found this website via google:

 <http://www.chem.hawaii.edu/uham/bat.html>
http://www.chem.hawaii.edu/uham/bat.html

The formulae stated reduces to:-

Amphours=(CCA/10)+16

So a 640 CCA battery is actually 80 amphours.

Just thought I'd share this little bit of knowledge with all of you...

Raffy
