[Waverley ARS] Log Books and Logging Software

Hi Henrik,
Being somewhat "old school" I currently log to paper. I like the fact that
you can just flick through a paper log to find things rather than having to
search for something specific. On the other hand, if you know what you are
looking for, computer searching is much easier and quicker.
I am considering looking at computer logging, though, but haven't really
started looking at what's available yet.

Subject: [Waverley ARS] Log Books and Logging Software
Hi All,
Now that the bands are hotting up, I really need to make a better effort
in logging my QSO's in a more concise and accessible manner.
What are you all using? Log book or software? Do you log on paper first
and then transfer your data to a logging programme later?
I'm currently using a log book but have yet to establish any particular
format that seems suitable, to the point that my logs are somewhat
haphazard!
So, not looking to reinvent the wheel here as I'm sure there are already
plenty of possibilities out there.
Bring it on.
Regards,
Henrik Stenstrom - VK2FHHS

Subject: [Waverley ARS] HF activity
Hi folks,
just to let the HF fans know that the 20m band has been alive and well
since Friday. It has been open every local evening until at least
1600Z, the latest I can stay with it.
On Monday night, 10m was open into VK7 around 0900Z though it had been
going since much earlier in the afternoon. I had been watching
VKlogger.com from about 0700Z while at work in the afternoon, with
associated activity on 6m and 2m also.
So winter conditions are definately on the way out and the weather on
Monday suggests sporadic E is about.
I've made more HF contacts in the last 3 days than I have in the
preceding 3 months!
