Hi Daniel,
It looks like a great radio. The Bluetooth will be so useful!
However, the American 2m band is only from 144 to 146mhz.
There are usually ways to change it's band TX limits (by software or
hardware mods) , but only after a while when hams get hold of it and figure
out how to do it, or an insider in Yaesu leeks it to the newsgroups.
For a time, you may have a radio that doesn't transmit on 147.025.
How long depends on hackers on the internet.
Perhaps you should ask vk3ajj whether he can guarantee that it will transmit
on the Aussie ham bands, rather than just the US ones.

At Dayton this year Yaesu released a new 2/70 cm radio. with blue tooth,
water proof face and more.

i called up vk3ajj today and they said it comes in in 3 weeks and its under
$600 might get this instead of the 7800R
