Hi

The club visit to Ian O'Toole's superb Kurrajong Radio Museum has been
arranged for next Sunday, May 20th. There is plenty to interest everyone
including those with no technical interest in radio, so family and
friends are welcome.

Ian is expecting us to arrive around 1100 (about 1.5 hrs drive from
Sydney). Many of those who are coming intend to have lunch after the
visit in the City View Restaurant at the Kurrajong Heights Hotel (5k
beyond the museum) where they apparently give a good deal to groups
booking in advance. A pub with a view. Visitors are also welcome to
bring a packed lunch to eat at the museum.

Car travel is necessary as there is no effective public transport, so
those going should make their own arrangements for car sharing, perhaps
at Wednesday's meeting. E-tags are desirable as there are up to 4 toll
roads on the way.

Another attraction is that our visit coincides with a group of Austin 7
vintage car enthusiasts. It would be appreciated if our group parks
outside the museum premises to allow the Austins to park inside where
they can more easily be viewed and the low security cars be less prone
to pilfering.

Although its not essential, can those coming who have not already done
so, let me know numbers and whether they would like a booking at the
restaurant.

The museum's web site will give you a good idea of what can be seen
together with instructions for getting there. Note that there is a $10
entry fee per person. See http://www.vk2bv.org/museum/index.htm

There is some info on the hotel at http://kurrajongheightshotel.net.au
