Tuesday the 1/5/07 Working Bee Report

Good day had by all, usual chin wagging but only two coffee breaks due to tasks on hand.

1.
Jim, Eddie & Alan built up display kit for FT902DM which had arrived from Japan. All modification to the board was carried out and after re-installation it did not work. Eric spent some time faulting out the unit and found a soldered short on the board. Rectification of this fault resulted in a fully functional display in the FT902DM. Thanks to Brad VK2CEC for tracking down the supplier of the display kit. Thanks to Eddie VK2BEH for ordering the kit. Thanks to Jim VK2JA for providing that invaluable expertise on unsoldering components off old boards.

2. Raffy worked on his QRP CW transeiver and found a faulty xtal socket in the rig. As Raffy had to leave at lunch time he was unable to complete his project so at next Project Day or next Tuesday we may see a Raffy built QRP CW transeiver.

3. Grant VK2TU kindly provided some light entertainment in the form of Steam Engines in Great Britain a very informative movie on the history of steam locomotion in the UK.

4. Eric spent some time with Daniel showing him how to use an oscillascope.

5. Packed up and left club at approx 5.30PM.

Don't forget cycling in Cenntenial Park (Padding Repeater is continually monitored so if lost call us) at the Weekend meeting at the Pavillion 7AM onwards Saturday and Sunday.
