Below is the material submitted for the ARNSW broadcast on Sunday.

Doug's subject is very topical so we are expecting a good attendance on 
Wednesday.

The lightning talks are expected to feature LED bench lighting (similar 
to that shown this Wednesday on the ABC Inventors TV program) and a 
Vietnam war period lightweight portable H/F transceiver as used by 
Australian SAS forces in the field.

Note the time for opening up is earlier than it has been lately to give 
more opportunity for a pre-meeting ragchew.

WAVERLEY AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY

The club's next evening meeting will be held this coming Wednesday, July 
18th, at 7:30 pm with doors opening at 7:00. Doug, VK2DCR, will give a 
talk and demo on "A practical Ham's guide to Voice over IP Telephony", 
including a hardware demonstration. Following this there will be one or 
two "lightning talks" of a few minutes duration where members briefly 
show or talk about an item of interest.

The club's annual winter auction held last month was a great success 
with much quality equipment changing hands. Thanks are due to the many 
club members and XYLs involved in its organisation as well as to those 
who supported the event through their attendance. Special mention must 
be made of Morven, VK2ABU, who donated a large quantity of high quality 
equipment.

The next Project Day is on the afternoon of Saturday, 4th August, 
commencing around 1:30pm. Note that Project Days occur on the first 
Saturday of every month and evening meetings on the third Wednesday.

The club's next Foundation Licence course is in a week's time on July 
the 21st and 22nd. There are still a few places left, so anyone 
interested should email the club at exams at vk2bv.org.
