Do you need to cover your rig? All covers, apparently, are manufactured of high quality, 50% wool, felt which is soft to the touch yet holds its shape to match the right angles of the radio cabinets.
Covers can be custom made to fit any transceiver and come in many different colours, with your own beautifully embroidered name and callsign. Most of the covers produced to date have been made with the back as a "flap". This allows the back to be folded under, against the top of the cabinet, if the cover is slipped on to the rig from the front. If the radio is installed with easy top access, the flap will lay on top of the cables in the back. If the radio is not cabled, the flap will protect the back by laying down flat against the rear panel of the cabinet.
Some models of covers for receivers and amplifiers are made with a solid back. Usually the solid back panels only partially cover the back to allow power and speaker wires to remain installed. You may specify which you prefer.
Colours available are the Collins light and dark greys, black, royal blue, beige, and camel (buckskin in Texas). Other materials that make interesting covers are occasionally available. Both blue and black jeans material (Levi's) make nice, more protective covers. Some upholstery materials have also created some unique covers for those more concerned with protection. A limited amount of vinyl is occasionally available for those wanting a water proof cover. Covers made of vinyl material are un-hemmed and their height may be trimmed with scissors to get the perfect fit on radios where the height of the rig's feet is adjustable. The vinyl is lined with felt or cotton on the inside.
