Hi Adam, welcome to the WARS e-mail reflector

There is a nice Jaycar 20 amp and a 30 amp linear power supply at
this link. We have the 30 amp one of these down at the club under
the main bench.

The Jaycar MP3078 switch mode is attractively priced and is extremely
convenient due to its lighter weight. I had one of these for a day
once and found it produced so much RF hash it was unusable on HF
bands so I returned it. However another member has one and found
theirs to be quiet on HF frequencies.

There has been a lot written about switch mode power supplies and
their problems on HF, some certainly seem to be worse than
others. Switchmode power supplies can't all be bad though, as it
appears the Icom one you mention would be suitable for HF.

The Dick Smith one you mention is a favorite amongst the ham
community...they seem to go and go and it is sometimes useful to be
able to change the voltage setting (not possible on the switchmodes
you nominated). It is also a nice feature to see how much current
you are drawing. I use one of these and have had it running for
years without any trouble, although it doesn't get much heavy duty use.

The Altronics M8260 looks nice, but I think you will find it not up
to the job when you want to run 100 watts. For 100 watts, I think
you will be best served by a PSU capable of running 20amp continuous.

A linear PSU is relatively simple electronically compared to
switchmode PSUs. Remember 2 switchmode PSUs failed down at the club
on the weekend.

Anyone else have opinions on PSUs.
