Can't believe the prices for 274A Rectifiers circa 1927:
Here it is, the Rosetta Stone of rectifier vacuum tubes.
This Western Electric full-wave balloon engraved base rectifier is
NOS and works perfectly.
This 274-A tube was found in the original box with the original spec
sheet and excelsior packing.
The previous owner kept it as a spare for his mobile sound car that
was equipped with a Western Electric amp back in the forties.
The date code etched on the tube is 167 386
Tested on my TV-7A/U where 40 is minimum.
Tested 54 and 54 which is strong and each side matches each other.
A new old stock 274A can test between 52-58 on my tester.
No shorts or gas.
The pins have no marks indicating it was most likely never used.
No internal rattling or pieces. Base tight to glass. Strong getter.
