Hi Members,
There are some tests being carried out on the 70cm repeater with the aim of
getting Echolink to co-exist with IRLP.
This will be a test until the end of September 07, after which time it's
continuance will be evaluated. If something goes wrong during the test , it
will be turned off or modified.
The method being used is to do an on-air link via a cross band repeater to
node 258361, which is VK2HSL-L
This is on 145.350 simplex and is located in Manly. There is an excellent
path between Bondi & Manly that makes this possible.
There will be an hourly announcement that advises of the link and some other
information.
We believe that if both IRLP and Echolink are active, there will be a two
way flow of signals.
IRLP nodes are listed here: http://status.irlp.net/statuspage.html
Echolink nodes are listed here: http://www.echolink.org/logins.jsp
To use Echolink prefix the node with a #
To sign off from both systems is the normal 73
We have noticed that the Echolink end at present is not decoding the DTMF
signals properly when being keyed via the 70cm repeater, so that sometimes
it's hard to dial up an Echolink node.
Echolink does work if started on the 145.350 simplex frequency.
Echolink also provides the following functionality:
*47 - help
*46 - info
*99 weather
*86 time
*93 weather forecast (weather is syd airport forecast) 00 - random node
09 - connect last node
