WAVERLEY AMATEUR RADIO SOCIETY
The club's next evening meeting will be held this coming Wednesday,
April 18th, at 7:30 pm. At the meeting Ben, VK2XUF, will give a
presentation on "Fun with High Voltages" which will include a
demonstration of a large Tesla coil he has built. There will also be a
discussion on current problems relating to the Paddington repeater. The
May meeting will include the Annual General Meeting.
The next Project Day is on the afternoon of Saturday, 5th May,
commencing around 1:30pm. Note that Project Days occur on the first
Saturday of every month and the evening meeting on the third Wednesday.
The club will be holding a Foundation Licence course next weekend, the
21st and 22nd of April. There are still a few places and anyone
interested should email the club at exams at vk2bv.org.
Planning for this year's winter solstice auction on Saturday June 23rd
has begun, so make a note of the date in your diary. In addition a club
visit to the Kurrajong Radio Museum is being planned for late May.
Waverley's clubhouse is located in the Scout Hall at Vickery Avenue,
Rose Bay, behind the RSL Club on New South Head Road. It is easy to find
and there is plenty of parking space in the grounds.
Information about the club, including full details about the auction and
Foundation Licence courses, can be found on its frequently updated web
site at vk2bv.org or call Simon, VK2UA, on 02 9328 7141.
