Oh for a Tx with built in ATU!

I successfully operated a simple long wire from the house to a tree with 
a manual external ATU for a number of months when we had to move out for 
renovations. Likewise for portable operation from hotels when 
travelling. Very simple and more flexible, with manually altering the 
settings for band changing being the downside!

There isn't much new in antennas!
