I agree Eric ..........be patient Daniel.  

Rule No. 1, Do not, I repeat, Do not, ever jeopardise the operation of your equipment for the sake of just a little gain when you could wreck the whole system.  ( I could use more colourful expletives but this would not add to the essence of the message).  Just think before you act!!!!!

  I would warn very strongly against doing such mods to the radio. In fact, I regard doing such mods to increase the power of almost any radio highly dangerous for the radio. On my FT100d's I only run them at about 80% of their rated power for normal operation to give them a bit more head room and run them cooler. 

   

  I would never try to increase the power level above what the manufacturer has designed the rig to run at. Doing so will probably cause premature failure of the finals and the likelihood of an expensive replacement of them.
