Hi
Did you know that in 1911 there were only 27 experimental radio licences
issued by the PMG throughout Australia (ie to non-government
organisations or individuals)? And of these 27, 3 individuals
subsequently became Waverley Club members after its foundation in 1919.
For an interesting article on early (to 1929) radio licensing in this
country, which was the source of this information, see the article by
the late Colin Mackinnon VK2DYM at
http://www.qsl.net/vk2dym/radio/callsigns.htm
Note for newer members: there is a large amount of material about the
early days of the club on the website.
