That's an interesting point, you are raising Daniel. Maybe I should
write a little bit about the type of intended base antenna. This would
allow us to better assess the situation of interference from TV antenna
radials in close proximity of the 2m/70cm base antenna.
The antenna that would fit on the 5 m mast and would not exceed my
budget could be a Commet Dual-Band GP-6 as described here:

Is this type of antenna with ground radials more likely to be affected
by radials of a TV antenna underneath? Do ground plane antennas still
require a ground? Aren't the radials a replacement for the "missing
ground"?!? Questions over questions. :-)
