[Waverley ARS] Lighthouse Weekend 2006

Hi folks - its Lighthouse time again, on the weekend of August 19 & 20.

This year the plan is to activate the two famous and historical lighthouses on our patch: the Macquarie Light in Vaucluse and, for the first time, the Hornby 
Light on South Head, around from Watson's Bay.

The proposal is to do Macquarie on the Saturday (as per previous years) and Hornby on the Sunday, both as VK2BV.

It is also proposed to organise operating rosters this year, so everyone can have a go - including the new Foxtrot calls who I believe can use the HF bands at full power so long as an appropriately licensed person is "supervising".

The last few years have been a lot of fun, with many club members taking the opportunity to try out (show off?) new equipment and collect a few contacts on the way. Last year we officially racked up over 30 QSOs & hope to do somewhat better this year.

We have obtained appropriate permission to use both sites, but Hornby will be the bigger challenge as we cannot drive up to it. Equipment will have to be backpacked or trolleyed in along the walkway from Camp Cove.

SO if those interested could reply via here or direct to my email and indicate whether they would like to come along on one or both days, we can get things rolling. As always, your suggestions always welcomed...
