Hi Colin
I wonder how many club members recogise the type of device suggested for
passing power by RF?
All those of you that had to pass a theory exam should know that similar
RF coupling is used in air core transformers - its a matter of power
levels and directional focussing to avoid loss. Coils tuned for 50Hz
would be too massive for practical use but microwaves or radar virtually
do this. Small domestic items today use this method for battery
charging, though the two parts are almost touching.
